TOY DOVE

Created during the first war with Iran, from a question that suddenly felt strangely obvious:

Why do we make toy soldiers, but not toys for peace?

War has an entire visual language we learn almost from birth. Tiny soldiers, tanks, uniforms and weapons are completely normal objects of play. Peace, somehow, never got the same treatment.

So I made one.

Toy Dove takes the familiar shape of a little green army toy and replaces the soldier with a dove. No rifle. No heroic battle pose. Just an olive branch and the slightly absurd idea that peace deserves its own action figure too.

Maybe what we choose to turn into toys says something about the world we expect children to grow into.

This original Vandalized illustration doesn’t have an answer. It just asks why war has always been so much easier to manufacture.
