A T-shirt inspired by the landscape of my childhood.

Growing up in Neve Shaanan, Haifa, the twin cooling towers of the oil refineries were always there. Two enormous concrete shapes rising from Haifa Bay, impossible to separate from the view of home.

Over the years, the towers became one of Haifa’s most recognizable symbols, standing at the center of a much bigger contradiction: industry and nature, livelihood and pollution, economic necessity and the health of the people who live around it.

In 2020, one of the two towers partially collapsed. The remaining structure was found to be unstable and was later demolished.

Today, only one remains.

This original Vandalized illustration was created after one of Haifa’s iconic cooling towers was demolished, permanently changing the landscape I had known since childhood.
